Im Artikel „Hyperkalzämie – ein Symptom mit vielen Ursachen“, der in der Ausgabe 04/15 des pferde.spiegels veröffentlicht wurde, wurde sowohl auf die unterschiedlichen Differenzialdiagnosen der Hyperkalzämie beim Pferd als auch auf die diagnostische Aufarbeitung von Patienten mit Hyperkalzämie eingegangen. Der vorliegende Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit den verschiedenen Therapiemöglichkeiten. Gerade weil beim Pferd die Hyperkalzämie aufgrund ihrer möglichen Ursachen mit einer sehr vorsichtigen bis schlechten Prognose verbunden ist, ist es wichtig, vor der Therapie eine Diagnose gestellt zu haben [8] .
