Abstract

Objective The objective ist to present a very rare case of SCC originating from primary temporal inverted papilloma of Schneider type.

Study-design: This is a case report.

Methods: We present a case of 68-year-old woman with a history of Schneider-papillom associated with low risk papilloma HPV 6, arising in the right middle ear and temporal bone. Papillomatous growth initially was treated with a lateral temporal bone resection. In spite of this surgical management , the growth of papilloma has progressed with recurrence in the middle ear and the most of temporal bone.

Results: The patient has undergone eventually a taotal temporal bone resection with duraplasty and oblitration with abdomen fat. The Histopathology revealed a moderate differenciated non-keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma on the ground of Schneider-papilloma which is known from the previous diagnostics.

Conclusion: We report a unique case of SCC arising from Schneider- Papilloma involving the temporal bone and describe the surgical tharapy.
