Der stetige Fortschritt bei mobilen Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien eröffnet
auch für den Gesundheitssektor spannende neue Möglichkeiten. Der Einsatz von mHealth
(mobile Health), also von Mobilgeräten wie beispielsweise Smartphones, Tablet-PCs
und weiteren Smartdevices (z. B. Smartwatches), kann von Fitness- und Wellness-Anwendungen
bis hin zu professionellen medizinischen Anwendung in den Bereichen Diagnostik, Therapie
und Prävention sowie biomedizinischer Forschung reichen. Auch für den Bereich Nephrologie
bieten sich vielfältige Chancen, beispielsweise durch Gestaltung neuer (mobiler) Kommunikations-
und Versorgungslösungen. Im Rahmen des eigentlichen Therapiemanagements von Nierenerkrankungen
spielen Therapieadhärenz und -sicherheit, Kontrolle von Vitalparametern und nicht
zuletzt lebensstiländernde Maßnahmen eine entscheidende Rolle. Konventionelle Lösungen
stellen die beteiligten Ärzte und Patienten nicht immer zufrieden. mHealth-basierte
Ansätze können hier Unterstützung bieten. Der vorliegende Artikel adressiert neben
den Chancen, die sich hieraus ergeben auch mögliche Problemfelder, die bei der Umsetzung
berücksichtigt werden müssen und stellt beispielhafte Lösungen für den Bereich Nephrologie
vor.
The continuous advancements in mobile information and communication technologies open
new prospects for health care. mHealth-based (mHealth: mobile health) solutions that
rely on mobile devices like smart phones, tablet PCs and other smart devices, such
as smart watches, are being used for fitness and wellness, but also for professional
purposes, such as diagnostics, therapy, and prevention as well as biomedical research.
For nephrology, mHealth also offers exciting opportunities, e. g. by providing new
means for communication and care. In the context of managing the care of renal diseases,
adherence to treatments and their safety, as well as the control of vital parameters
and last but not least lifestyle modifications play an essential role. Established
solutions do not always provide adequate support for the needs of doctors and their
patients. mHealth-based approaches may help in this context. This article addresses
chances as well as challenges that need to be considered when implementing such solutions
and presents examples for nephrology.
