Objective Evaluation of air-bone gap (ABG) with vestibular aqueduct size in large vestibular aqueduct syndrome (LVA).

Methods A systematic review of the international English literature from 2000 to 2022 was performed. Hearing test and imaging examination data were extracted. Results: Over 485 articles there were 5 articles selected with a total of 349 patients. Two studies showed a positive correlation, one showed only a trend and two showed no correlation.

Conclusions based on this results it is not possible to establish if there is a positive correlation between air-bone gap and vestibular aqueduct size in LVA syndrome or not. Higher quality studies with this specific aim would be necessary to address the specific research question.
