Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma: A Hybrid Endoscopic Endonasal and Transmaxillary Approach
Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibromas (JNAs) are benign, locally invasive vascular tumors classically presenting as severe recurrent epistaxis and nasal obstruction in adolescent males. In this video, we describe a hybrid endoscopic endonasal and transmaxillary resection of a large JNA presenting in a very young child occupying the right nasopharynx, pterygopalatine fossa, infratemporal fossa, masticator space, and middle cranial fossa. Key surgical steps are highlighted including preoperative embolization, tumor resection, and preservation of surrounding neurovascular structures.
