Zur Funktion der Scham bei depressiven Störungen

Zusammenfassung:

Ausgehend von der Betrachtung der Funktion von Schamempfindungen für psychiatrische Störungsbilder wird die Beziehung zwischen Scham und affektiven Störungen dargestellt. An einer Stichprobe von 113 stationären Patienten mit depressiver Symptomatik und 81 gesunden Kontrollprobanden wurde der Zusammenhang zwischen Scham, habitueller Ängstlichkeit und Ambiguitätsintoleranz untersucht. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die klinische Gruppe höhere Werte auf allen Skalen aufwies. Überdies konnte mit einem experimentell variierten Szenario der mögliche Einfluss von Öffentlichkeit nachgewiesen werden. Personen mit hohen Schamausprägungen erwarten einen stärkeren Eingriff anderer bei einer Normverletzung als Personen mit niedrigen Schamausprägungen. Die Resultate werden vor dem Hintergrund der Funktion von Schamempfindungen für affektive Störungen diskutiert.

Beginning with the view of the function feelings of shame for psychiatric disturbances the relationship between shame and affective disorders was described. In a sample of 113 inpatients with depressive symptoms and 81 healthy controls, the relationship between shame, trait-anxiety and intolerance of ambiguity was examined. The results showed that the clinical group scored higher on all measures than the control group. Furthermore, the potential impact of publicity was demonstrated in an experimental varied scenario. Individuals with high shame level expected a stronger intervention after a norm violation than individuals with low shame level. The results were discussed on the background of the function feelings of shame for affective disorders.
