Hepatitis C Induced Cryoglobulinemia with Associated Allergic Vasculitis
In two patients presenting with clinically different types of allergic vasculitis a chronic hepatitis C infection with associated cryoglubulinemia type II was documented. Both female patients had a history of allergic vasculitis for several years. A complete remission was achieved by short-term application of corticosteroids followed by long-term treatment with interferon-alpha and interferon-alpha combined with ribavirin, respectively.
