Zusammenfassung

Impaktierte obere Eckzähne stellen für die Nachbarzähne eine gewisse Gefahr dar, da es durch sie zu Resorptionen oder Fehlstellungen kommen kann. Ein weiteres Risiko ist die mögliche Bildung von Zysten. Aus diesem Grund sind impaktierte Eckzähne nicht nur in Hinblick auf Fehlstellungen problematisch. Sie stellen ein allgemeines Gesundheitsrisiko dar. Da die Eckzähne eine wichtige Rolle bei der Okklusion und der Artikulation der Zahnreihen spielen, ist es für jeden Zahnarzt wichtig, über die richtige frühzeitige Diagnose und über die Möglichkeiten einer Prävention und der Therapie Bescheid zu wissen.

Der vorliegende Beitrag schildert ein Verfahren, das sich in der Praxis über 25 Jahre bewährt hat.

Summary

Impacted upper canines pose a threat to neighboring teeth by the possibility of resorption or causing malposition. Also cyst formation forms a risk. Thus, impacted canines do not merely constitute a problem of malocclusion, but signify a health risk. Canines play an important role in occlusion and articulation of the dentition and it is indispensible for every dentist to know about the possibilities of prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of impacted teeth. This paper offers a protocol that has proven itself in 25 years of practice.
