ABSTRACT

For years, radiologists have been able to perform embolization of pelvic arteries in patients with massive life-threatening hemorrhage. Interventional radiology has now become a safe way to treat unstable traumatic injuries of the pelvic girdle. Percutaneous screw fixation of acetabular fractures under computed tomography (CT) guidance is a quick and very precise method that avoids most of the troubles seen in open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) or in lengthy traction treatment. We present here our first conclusions based on a series of 16 patients operated on for nondisplaced or slightly displaced acetabular fractures.
