Sprengel-Deformität bei einem neunjährigen Jungen: Diagnostik und Therapie

Zusammenfassung

Die Sprengel-Deformität ist eine angeborene Fehlbildung mit meist einseitiger Elevation und Medialrotation der Skapula. Meist ist ein Os omovertebrale vorhanden. Assoziierte skelettale Fehlbildungen sind häufig. Obgleich funktionell wenig einschränkend, ist die kosmetische und psycho-soziale Beeinträchtigung oft erheblich. Die Prognose der frühen operativen Therapie ist gut. Der vorliegende Fall ermutigt zur operativen Therapie auch im höheren Kindesalter.

Abstract

Sprengel deformity is a congential malformation with usually unilateral elevation and medial rotation of the scapula. An omovertebral bone is generally present. Associated skeletal malformations are frequently present. Though functional impairment is mild, the cosmetic and psycho-social impairment can be considerable. The prognosis of early surgical therapy is good. The presented case also justifies surgical correction in the older child.
