Zusammenfassung
Die Anwendung chromatographisch standardisierter Peptidgemische aus Thymus bzw.
Leber und Milz ist eine der häufig durchgeführten komplementären Therapiemethoden
in der Onkologie. Der Nutzen für den Patienten besteht vor allem in einer Aktivierung
des Immunsystems, der Infektprophylaxe und einer Verbesserung der Lebensqualität.
Dabei zeigen Thymuspeptide erwartungsgemäß eine ausgeprägte Wirkung auf die
T-Zell-vermittelte Immunfunktion, während Leber-Milz-Peptide auch myeloprotektiv
und antiemetisch wirksam sind. Obwohl die biochemischen Grundlagen und die Details
des molekularbiologischen Wirkmechanismus noch bei weitem nicht vollständig aufgeklärt
sind, liegt bereits eine Reihe klinischer Erfahrungen vor, die einen Einsatz von
standardisierten Peptidgemischen als Fertigarzneimittel in integrativen Tumortherapie-Konzepten
begründen.
Summary
The application of chromatographically standardized thymus peptides as well as
peptides from liver and spleen is a complementary therapy with growing importance.
The most important benefits for the patient are an immune stimulation, prophylaxis
against infections and an improvement in the quality of life. Thymic peptides
are very efficient in activating the T-cell mediated immune response. Liver and
spleen peptides also show myeloprotective and antiemetic effects. Although the
biochemical foundations and the details of the molecular reaction mechanisms are
far from known, a growing number of clinical studies shows the usefulness of the
application of standardized peptide fractions within integrative concepts of tumor
therapy.
