Inter-Session-Prozesse

Zusammenfassung

Wir wissen bislang kaum etwas darüber, wie Patienten Erfahrungen aus der Therapie zwischen den Sitzungen verinnerlichen, erinnern und bewusst oder unbewusst für Veränderungen nutzen. Was nach einer Sitzung mit den Erfahrungen in der Sitzung „passiert”, ist jedoch vermutlich von zentraler Bedeutung für den längerfristigen Therapieerfolg. Der „Inter-Session-Prozess” beschreibt die Verarbeitung von Therapie zwischen den Therapiesitzungen. Obwohl „Inter-Session-Prozesse” als ein wesentliches Bindeglied zwischen Therapieprozess und -ergebnis angesehen werden können, wurden sie kaum empirisch untersucht. Die bislang durchgeführten Untersuchungen beziehen sich ausschließlich auf ambulante, einzeltherapeutische Settings. Es wird ein Überblick über bislang vorliegende Instrumente und Studien gegeben sowie die Bedeutung von Inter-Session-Prozessen für die Psychotherapieforschung dargelegt.

Abstract

We do not know much about how patients internalize, remember or use psychotherapeutic experiences between psychotherapy sessions and how they use them for change. What happens with in-session-experiences after a session („inter-session-process”) is of main importance for outcome. The inter-session-process describes the work on psychotherapy between sessions. Although inter-session-processes are a central element connecting psychotherapy process and outcome, they remain a neglected area of research. Previous studies examined individual outpatient settings only. This paper gives an overview over theory, instruments for measurement, previous studies and relevance of inter-session-processes for the field of psychotherapy research.

Winnicott, Fairbairn), worauf aber aufgrund des begrenzten Umfangs dieser Arbeit verzichtet werden muss; ein umfassender theoretischer  Überblick zu Prozessen der Internalisierung findet sich z. B. bei Schafer [14].

3 Meint das Selbsterleben von Patient und Therapeut mit ihrer jeweiligen Offenheit oder Abwehr den Inhalten der Therapie gegenüber.

4 Gemeint sind die unmittelbaren Auswirkungen der therapeutischen Interaktion mit Effekten wie Remoralisierung, Kompetenzerweiterung und Aufbau einer tragfähigen Beziehung.
