Zusammenfassung

Dieser Artikel verschafft einen Überblick über die psychiatrische Notfallversorgung in Großbritannien sowie ihre Entwicklung und erläutert das Vorgehen bei spezifischen Notfällen. Die psychiatrische Notfallversorgung in Großbritannien wird zumeist mit Hilfe von so genannten Liaison Psychiatry Teams organisiert: multidisziplinäre Teams, die schnell psychosoziale Untersuchungen durchführen und beratende Funktion haben. Die Versorgung ist im Vergleich zu Deutschland integrierter, aber auch richtlinienabhängiger.

Abstract

This article gives an overview of the development and organisation of psychiatric emergency provisions in Great Britain, including examples for specific emergencies. The provision is commonly organised through so-called liaison psychiatry teams. These are multi-disciplinary teams who can provide fast psychosocial assessments and give advice. In contrast to Germany, the British provisions are more integrated, but also more guideline driven.
