Vierzig Jahre Kieferorthopädie und Gnathologie

Zusammenfassung

Die Anwendung funktioneller Okklusionskonzepte in der täglichen Kieferorthopädie war ein Hauptanliegen des Autors in den letzten 40 Jahren. Es wird die Entwicklung von der klassischen Gnathologie hin zum bioästhetischen Okklusionskonzept nach Lee aufgezeigt. Gleichzeitig werden aus einer 35-jährigen Lehrtätigkeit an Universitäten und privaten Fortbildungsinstituten Schlussfolgerungen für eine verbesserte kieferorthopädische Ausbildung gezogen.

Abstract

The integration of functional occlusal concepts in daily orthodontic practice was a main effort of this author for 40 years. The development from classic gnathology to the bioesthetic occlusal concept of Lee is shown. The author draws conclusion for improvements in the orthodontic education from 35 years of experience in teaching at dental schools and at a post graduate level.
