Although eruptive vellus hair cysts are benign lesions, patients usually seek treatment for cosmetic reasons. Herein we report successful treatment of eruptive vellus hair cysts with a simple surgical technique which was previously described for the treatment of steatocysytoma multiplex. This technique involves a mini-incision at the top of the cysts with the tip of a number 15 blade, emptying the contents of the cysts with gentle pressure applied from the lateral sites of the incision and finally the removal of the cyst walls with a fine artery forceps.

This is a simple surgical technique with very satisfying cosmetic results. It does not necessitate local anesthesia, the use of adhesive strips or topical antibacterials which might be considered as additional advantages. However the time consuming nature of the procedure might be a disadvantage especially for the physician.
