A 45 year old Romanian female with a two year history of bilateral axillary hyperhidrosis underwent liposuction currettage dissection of the axillary sweat glands. Each axilla was demarcated with marking pen, and 1 or 2 entrance points delineated in the anterior axillary line. Entrance points were anesthetized and an oblique puncture wound made to allow a multi-port infiltrator to pass into the axillae. Tumescence with 200 cc of 0.2% lidocaine and epinephrine 1:300,000 was accomplished. The left axilla was curretted with the single opening, single projection Cassio cannula (Richter instruments, Sao Paulo, Brazil) in two directions, while the multiple opening, rasping Argentinian cannula (Blugerman, Lombardozzi, Buenos Aires, Argentina) was used in the right axilla through a single approach port. Serial photographs of the procedure will be presented, as will the preliminary answer to the question, „Which cannula gave the best result“.
