Abstract

The preparations for the WC 2006 require an expansion of the treatment concepts in the background of the dimensions of catastrophes in the recent history. Here, the treatment place plays a central role. Its task includes sighting of the huge number of casualties in a protected space nearby the site of the incident and carrying out a bridging emergency medical treatment and stabilisation until the injured persons can be provided with further therapy or care. Besides the organisational guidelines (establishing, management, organisation), the equipment and the sequence of actions are described. Aid organisations are responsible to establish a treatment place within the framework of the German federal contingency plan. The aid organisations assure the functioning of the treatment place based on their special action squads (SEG).
