Der moderne Anästhesist - Perioperativer Mediziner im Krankenhaus der Zukunft

Zusammenfassung

Schon jetzt ist der Anästhesist an zahlreichen Schnittstellen der operativen Versorgung tätig und künftig für die Rolle des Koordinationsarztes zur perioperativen Führung von Patienten prädestiniert. Seine vielfachen Kontaktstellen und sein Querschnittswissen befähigen ihn zur Übernahme einer interdisziplinären strukturverbundenen Rolle im Krankenhaus - auch in einer entsprechenden Führungsposition. Im Fach der Anästhesiologie ist eine differenzierte, qualifiziert aufgebaute Struktur erforderlich: Nur eine verbesserte Qualifizierung des Assistenzpersonals, die mit einer Erweiterung des Aufgaben- und Verantwortungsbereiches einhergeht, ist in der Lage, sowohl die humanen als auch die ökonomischen Engpässe zu verringern. Der Anästhesist selbst aber muss kompetenter Partner aller operativen Disziplinen sein, angefangen vom präoperativen Assessment bis zur Entlassung aus dem Krankenhaus. Als perioperativer Manager begleitet er den Weg des Patienten durch alle Schritte der Diagnostik und Therapie. Hierdurch wird der Schritt vom Narkosearzt zum perioperativen Mediziner vollzogen.

The anaesthetist is already actively involved in numerous interfaces of surgical care, and is thus predestined to take over the role of the coordinating physician for the peri-operative patient care. His numerous contacts and comprehensive skills render him particularly suited to take on the responsibilities of an interdisciplinary structure-binding role in the hospital - also in a managerial position. In the specialty of anaesthesiology, a differentiated qualified structure is needed: only an improvement in the qualifications of assistant staff, associated with an expansion of tasks and responsibility can reduce both personnel and economic bottlenecks. The anaesthetist himself, however, must be a competent partner for all operative disciplines ranging from pre-operative assessment to patient discharge from the hospital. As a peri-operative manager he accompanies the patient through all the diagnostic and therapeutic steps. In this way, the step from anaesthetist to peri-operative physician can be accomplished.
