Publication History

Publication Date:
22 November 2005 (online)

Seminars in Vascular Medecine has been publishing review articles of reference for 5 years. Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis has been publishing original articles for the past 31 years. Both serve the same community; in fact, many of you subscribe to both journals.

We have, therefore, decided to merge these two journals beginning in 2006. This has several advantages:

Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis is indexed in Current Contents/ISI and not just PubMed/Medline, as was not the case for Seminars in Vascualr Medecine. Thus, readers will have easier access to the reviews and authors will gain greater exposure. By expanding the scope of Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis we aim to offer a more complete read and better serve your intellectual curiosity and continuing educational objectives. By merging the journals, and thus expanding the scope of articles accepted, we are establishing the basis for the future growth of the journal, which leads as of 2006 to an expanded page budget and frequency-increased to 8 issues per year.

This last issue of Seminars in Vascular Medicine is the close of a publication that never found its readership. We wish here to express our gratitude to Dr. Jan Jacques Michiels, Editor in Chief, for all he has done for this journal. It will, in many ways, continue in 2006 with the inclusion of two issues on vascular medicine in the lineup of topical issues of Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis.

We look forward to serving you in 2006 with the newly expanded edition of Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis. Please contact me should you have comments or suggestions regarding that journal'S focus and future.

Sincerely
