Einleitung

Die Gastroenterologie als ein Schwerpunkt der Inneren Medizin hat in den letzten Jahren eine rasante Entwicklung durchlaufen. Die Fortschritte in der Diagnostik und Therapie einer Vielzahl gastroenterologischer Krankheitsbilder beruhen zum einen auf dem besseren Verständnis der Ätiologie und Pathomechanismen, zum anderen auf Erkenntnissen aus evidenzbasierten experimentellen und klinischen Multicenterstudien. Im Folgenden sollen organbezogen (Ösophagus, Magen, Pankreas, Leber, Dünn- und Dickdarm) klinisch besonders relevante, aktuelle Entwicklungen beleuchtet werden. Dies kann hier nur in kursorischer, exemplarischer Form geschehen. Die Autoren erheben dabei keinen Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit.
