ABSTRACT
Eight patients were treated using the deltoid sensory flap for soft-tissue injury
of the extremities. The results were one-stage reconstructions of soft tissue extremity
injuries. Protective sensibility was provided to the reconstructed area; there was
no limitation of motion of the shoulder after the procedure; and primary closure of
the donor site was feasible. The advantages of the deltoid sensory flap exceed those
of other reconstructive procedures that are used in areas where sensibility is essential.
