Bronchography results were studied in 110 cases between the ages of 14 and 68 years.
In each case the mucolytic agent Carbocistein was used to increase the effectiveness
of postural drainage prior to bronchography. Insufficient filling of the bronchial
tree occurred in only one case. These results suggest that Carbocisteine increases
the effectiveness of postural drainage prior to bronchography and indicates the need
for further careful controlled studies.
