Summary

A case of traumatic intrapericardial diaphragmatic rupture in a 72-year-old patient is presented. The evaluation and treatment of this lesion and associated pathology in the acute phase is presented, the pathophysiology is commented on, and a thorough review of the literature is presented. To our knowledge, only 29 cases have been previously reported.
