Epidemiologie

Statistik. Mit jährlich 142 000 Neuerkrankungen ist das Endometriumkarzinom (EC) weltweit das siebthäufigste Karzinom der Frau. Etwa 42 000 Frauen sterben jedes Jahr an diesem Malignom. Die Inzidenz ist am höchsten in den USA und in den westeuropäischen Ländern [1].

In Deutschland liegt die altersstandardisierte Inzidenz bei etwa 20 / 100 000 Frauen. Dies entspricht etwa 11 400 Neuerkrankungen pro Jahr. Diese Zahl ist seit 1980 mehr oder weniger konstant [2].

Damit ist das Endometriumkarzinom in Deutschland das vierthäufigste Malignom der Frau. Die altersstandardisierte Mortalitätsrate ist in Deutschland von 2,9 / 100 000 Frauen im Jahr 1980 auf 1,6 / 100 000 Frauen im Jahr 2003 gesunken [2].

Bei einem Anteil von 2,7 % rangiert das Endometriumkarzinom inzwischen nur als neunthäufigste Krebstodesursache bei Frauen in Deutschland [2]. Mit einer relativen 5-Jahres-Überlebensrate von 77 % gehört das EC zu den prognostisch günstigen Malignomen. Der Altersgipfel der Erkrankung liegt in Deutschland zwischen 65 und 85 Jahren, allerdings können EC durchaus auch prämenopausal, ja sogar bei unter 45-jährigen Frauen auftreten [2] [3].

Die relative 5-Jahres-Überlebensrate von 77 % macht das EC zu einem prognostisch günstigen Malignom.
