Lernziele
Ziel dieses Artikels ist es, moderne Konzepte der Diagnostik bipolar affektiver Störungen zu vermitteln. Aktuelle Aspekte von Epidemiologie, Komorbidität und Prognoseforschung werden dargestellt wie auch die Problematik besonderer Personengruppen (u. a. Kinder, Jugendliche und ältere Menschen). Aspekte von Ätiologie, Neurobiologie und Therapie werden in einem nachfolgenden zweiten Artikel dargestellt werden.
