Vier bis sechs Wochen lang tötet Bortezomib Myelomzellen effektiv ab. Doch dann schlagen die Krebszellen zurück, wie Heidelberger Forscher jetzt festgestellt haben. Im Laborversuch vermehrten sich die eine Bortezomibtherapie überlebenden Myelomzellen explosionsartig. Weder hoch wirksame Zellgifte noch eine Bestrahlung konnten ihnen noch etwas anhaben.
