Abstract

The case report describes inflammation of a knee joint due to echinococcus alveolaris with symptoms of a septic arthritis. Histologically a direct invasion of the synovial membrane by the parasite was observed.

Zusammenfassung

In der kasuistischen Mitteilung wird eine Gelenkechinokokkose beschrieben, die mit Symptomen einer bakteriellen Arthritis einherging. Histologisch konnte ein direkter Befall des Gelenkes durch Echinococcus alveolaris nachgewiesen werden.
