Zusammenfassung

Bei insgesamt 28 Patienten mit Nierenzellkarzinom wurde immunhistochemisch unter Verwendung monoklonaler Antikörper gegen das Proliferations-antigen Ki-67 die Proliferationsrate des jeweiligen Tumors ermittelt. Diese korreliert mit dem Differenzierungsgrad und lag intratumoral peripher höher als zentral. Das dargelegte Verfahren eignet sich zur Routine und ermöglicht erstmals direkt die Erfassung des biologischen Potentials und damit wahrscheinlich auch der Prognose eines Tumors.

Abstract

In a prospective immunohistochemical study tumour tissues of 28 patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) were evaluated employing the monoclonal antibody Ki-67 for determination of the individual proliferation rate (PR). A strong correlation of the PR with tumour stage and grade was found as well as its increase with the peripheral zones compared to central areas of the neoplasia. The approach outlined in detail enables direct assessment of the biological potential and therefore seems to be a valuable prognostic parameter.
