Recent experiences of surgical removal of tumors located in the infratemporal fossa or extending to the infratemporal fossa from the middle fossa will be presented. The lower limit we can access by the zygomatic infratemporal fossa is approximately 4 cm below the middle cranial base. A combined transcervical and transcranial approach is required for the removal of the benign tumor extending downward below 4 cm from the middle cranial fossa and the radical resection of malignant tumors in the infratemporal fossa. We will demonstrate the radical resection of mandibular osteosarcoma and recurrent jugular neurinoma extending to the cervix.
