Peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD)

Summary

Leg pain on exertion is the cardinal symptom of both arterial occlusive disease. Patients with PAOD complain of cramping pain in the calf, which disappears after standing still with a straight back for a few minutes. The diagnostic and therapeutic options are discussed.
