Die Anwendung von Naturstoffen sowohl im privaten als auch im klinischen Bereich nimmt stetig zu. Dabei erfreuen sich die Bienenprodukte großer Beliebtheit. Insbesondere Propolis wird traditionell in der Mundpflege eingesetzt und ist Gegenstand einiger zahnmedizinischer Forschungsarbeiten. Um Patienten kompetent beraten zu können, liefert der Fortbildungsbeitrag Einblicke in die Apitherapie im Kontext der Zahnheilkunde. Nach dem Durcharbeiten dieses Beitrags sollten Sie
▪ allgemein den Begriff Apitherapie sowie geschichtliche Hintergründe im Bezug zur Zahnheilkunde erklären können,
▪ spezielle Bienenprodukte und deren Wirkung auf den oralen Bereich kennen und
▪ Patienten Hinweise zur Anwendung von Bienenprodukten geben können.
