Zusammenfassung
Anlässlich des 30. Geburtstages der ESCOP wird ein Blick auf deren anfängliche Pionierarbeit
zur Harmonisierung der Bewertungskriterien zur Wirksamkeit und Unbedenklichkeit von
Arzneipflanzen und die heute etablierte Online-Publikation wissenschaftlicher Monografien
geworfen. Für die Mitglieder der Gesellschaft für Phytotherapie und die in der ESCOP
zusammengeschlossenen weiteren nationalen Fachgesellschaften für Phytotherapie sind
diese Monografien immer von großer Bedeutung gewesen; heute können die Mitglieder
durch einen einfachen Zugang von den Arbeitsergebnissen profitieren. ESCOP trägt zur
Harmonisierung wissenschaftlicher Informationen über den Nutzen und die Anwendung
von Arzneipflanzen bei und stellt darüber hinaus auch eine Plattform für eine konstruktive
Zusammenarbeit nationaler Fachgesellschaften für Phytotherapie dar.
Abstract
ESCOP 2019. 30 years of European phytotherapy
On the occasion of ESCOP’s 30th anniversary, a look will be taken at its initial pioneer
work to harmonise the evaluation criteria for efficacy and safety of medicinal plants
and its nowadays established online publication of scientific monographs. For the
members of the Society for Phytotherapy and the other national professional societies
for phytotherapy united in the ESCOP, these monographs have always been of great importance;
today the members can benefit from easy access to the results of the work. ESCOP contributes
to the harmonisation of scientific information on the benefits and applications of
medicinal plants and also provides a platform for constructive cooperation between
national phytotherapy associations.
