Fachgesellschaften empfehlen bei inoperablen hepatozellulären Karzinomen in einem niedrigen Stadium die Radiofrequenzablation (RFA). Die kurz- und langfristige Effektivität wird kontrovers diskutiert. Uhlig et al. verglichen retrospektiv die posttherapeutischen Ergebnisse und das langfristige Überleben von 18 296 Patienten, die eine RFA oder Operation erhalten hatten.
