Mikronährstoffversorgung im Leistungssport

Teil 2: Diskussion der einzelnen Nährstoffe

Zusammenfassung

Die vorgestellte Studie zeigt bei Leistungssportlern auf breiter Basis eine grenzwertige oder unzureichende Versorgung mit Mikronährstoffen. Mit Ausnahme von Folsäure und Vitamin B12 sind jugendliche Sportler dabei stets signifikant schlechter versorgt als die erwachsenen Athleten. Als ursächliche Faktoren werden v. a. der erhöhte Bedarf im Wachstum sowie eine kohlenhydratbetonte Ernährung der Jugendlichen diskutiert. Die durchschnittlich bessere Versorgung von A-Nationalspielern wird auf eine vom Verband gesteuerte Nährstoffsupplementierung zurückgeführt. Die Versorgung insb. mit Vitamin D, aber auch mit Coenzym Q10 und Vitamin B1 korreliert mit der Häufigkeit muskulärer Verletzungen, unter denen 73 % der untersuchten Spitzensportler leiden. Ein Zusammenhang zwischen der Nährstoffversorgung und den Parametern Infektanfälligkeit, Müdigkeit und Schlafstörungen war weniger deutlich bzw. nicht feststellbar.
