Introduction

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been emerging since its first detection in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. It was classified as a pandemic by the WHO on March 11th 2020. Interrupting chains of transmission is the main strategy for preserving public health during the pandemic. Data regarding the contribution of children to the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 have been limited.

This is a report on a 9-year-old girl who was infected by SARS-CoV-2 by an unknown vector. To the best of our knowledge, no other person became infected by her. Details of this case could support a better understanding of how a chain of transmission can be interrupted in pediatric cases.
