The first one is the most actual. In this article the authors compare the value of
chest ultrasound with standard X-Ray Imaging in Covid-19 Patients. They found a high
value of chest ultrasound. In detecting the pulmonary symptoms, the chest ultrasound
was similar to standard X ray, but the ultrasound could detect also intestinal
problems. Also, for describing lung consolidations and pleural line abnormalities
chest ultrasound was very effective and comparable with standard x ray.
The second article is a case report about the sonographic diagnosis of middle
cerebral artery occlusion, which is a rare diagnosis. There were impressive images
in the report.
The third article is also a case report about the prenatal diagnosis of a rare case
with a skeletal anomaly – fibula aplasia, tibial campomelia and
oligosyndactyly – by using 2 D and 3 D ultrasound. These ultrasound images
were also with an excellent quality.
The fourth article is a case report about a cystic lesion of the thumb, which was
finally a cystic papillary adenocarcinoma.
The fifth and last article presents 2 cases of segmental testicular infarction and
discussed based on the question whether a conservative management is possible.
So finally, I hope you enjoy these articles in this issue of Ultrasound International
Open. Thank you to all authors and also to the reviewers for their work
