FDG uptake in axillary lymph nodes after COVID-19 vaccination – a pitfall in a case of highly suspicious lymph node metastases of malignant melanoma
Introduction
After vaccination lymph nodes reactions are commonly observed and previously described as potential pitfalls in reading 18F-2-Fluor-2-deoxy-D-glucose-positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG-PET/CT) [1]. This potential pitfall is increasingly encountered with vaccination programmes underway to combat the ongoing SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Nuclear medicine physicians should be aware of this potential pitfall.
