Kritische Erkrankungen und deren Behandlungen sind für eine Vielzahl von Patient*innen und auch deren Angehörige mit unterschiedlichsten psychischen und physischen Belastungen verbunden [1]. Befragungen der Patient*innen nach dem Erleben der intensivmedizinischen Behandlung zeichnen immer wieder ein Bild von Beschwerden, die auch durch umgebungsbedingte Stressoren entstehen, wie z. B. Lärm durch Maschinen und Alarme oder kontinuierliche Lichtexposition [2].
