Lastkraftwagenfahrer im Fokus von Infektionskrankheiten

ZUSAMMENFASSUNG

In den Jahren 2020 und 2021 kam es zu einer Aufeinanderfolge ungewöhnlich verlaufender Infektionen bei Lastkraftwagenfahrern, die in unserer Klinik behandelt wurden. Anhand von 5 Fallvignetten wird herausgearbeitet, dass Lastkraftwagenfahrer ein erhöhtes Risiko für potenziell schwer verlaufende Infektionskrankheiten durch individuelle und berufsbedingte Risikofaktoren sowie erschwerten Zugang zu medizinischer Versorgung aufweisen. Im professionellen Kontakt mit Patienten dieser Berufsgruppe ist daher besondere Aufmerksamkeit geboten.

ABSTRACT

In 2020 and 2021 we observed a series of unusual infections among truck drivers who were treated in our hospital. On the basis of five case presentations, we want to demonstrate that truck drivers have an increased risk of potentially serious infectious diseases due to individual and work-related risk factors as well as often limited access to medical care. Special attention is therefore required in professional contact with patients from this occupational group.
