Während die Definition der WHO zur Gesundheit von 1948 [1] und die zur Mentalen/Psychischen Gesundheit [2] von 2004 Allgemeingut im psychomedizinischen Bereich sind – wenn auch nicht unkritisiert [3] –, ist eine gleichermaßen offizielle und populäre Definition für Zerebrale oder „Hirngesundheit“ bisher nicht en vogue. Die deutsche Bezeichnung wirkt ungewohnt und geht durch das zweimalige Anlauten mit „Ge“ in „Gehirn-Gesundheit“ etwas holprig über die Lippen und ist kein gängiger Terminus. „Hirn“ ohne „Ge-“ klingt leicht unwissenschaftlich - wenn schon, dann doch eher gleich anglisiert als „Brain Health“.
