The Conference was organised by The Romanian Association for the Study of Clinical and Applied Ultrasonography (A.R.S.U.S.) with the support of “Iuliu Hatieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMF Cluj) and the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB) and with the approval of the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) with 18 credits/ Conference Professional Organiser: Edusontv.net

We had an audience of 102 participants (onsite & online) from Romania, Poland, Ukraine, Germany and Bulgaria, mainly dermatologists, but also radiologists, plastic surgeons and internal medicine doctors. All the 19 invited speakers (9 foreign, 10 Romanian) contributed to the syllabus of the event, moderated some of the 7 sessions of the programme, and were involved as trainers in the 3 hands-on workshops.

The educational objectives and outcomes of the programme were achieved: to identify ultrasound basic semiology, sonohistology, role of Doppler, elastography and CEUS in the assessment of dermatologic conditions (various inflammatory, vascular and tumoral (benign and malignant) pathologies of the skin and nail organ: clinical and typical sonographic aspects; monitoring of various topical and systemic therapies by means of ultrasound; role of high-frequency ultrasound in the perioperative setting in dermatologic surgery; applications of high-frequency ultrasound in dermatology and cosmetology.

We had 8 hands-on ultrasound stations with trainers, in which the participants were very active and could practice their skills:

    • 1st Workshop Sonoanatomy of the head and neck area with live models

    • 2nd Workshop High-frequency ultrasound in conservative dermatology and dermatooncology: 20 patients with different dermatologic pathology

    • 3rd Workshop High frequency ultrasound in aesthetic dermatology: included live models and demonstrations from the experts.

On the third day of Sonoderm, the audience assisted at the official book launch of the Textbook of Dermatologic Ultrasound, in the presence of the editor Prof.Dr. Ximena Wortsman. The book provides a pedagogical guide to dermatologic ultrasound, covering both the fundamentals and the latest updates, very useful for the practitioners.
