Leserbrief zum Leserbrief 4 zu: Nebenwirkungen nach Acrylverklebung von Stammvenen – Bericht aus der Literatur

Die Ansicht, in der Phlebologie liege vergleichsweise wenig zahlenbasierte Evidenz vor [1], war im Jahr 2017 noch uneingeschränkt zu vertreten. Zwischenzeitlich hat sich allerdings auch in der Phlebologie einiges getan. So erscheint es unverständlich, dass dann doch gegen ein Behandlungsverfahren, dessen Nutzen und Risiken vergleichsweise gut belegt sind, recht dezidierte Urteile gesprochen werden mit Gegenargumenten auf wesentlich geringerem Evidenzniveau. Es ist in der Sache unvereinbar, auf der einen Seite mangelnde Wissenschaftlichkeit zu beklagen, andererseits dort wegzusehen, wo wissenschaftliche Objektivität am wenigsten in Erscheinung tritt.
