Abstract
Elbow dislocations in children and adolescents are relatively rare but serious injuries
that are often associated with fractures and can lead to growth disorders and consecutive
dysfunction. To prevent long-term complications a sufficient diagnostic evaluation
to determine the full extent of the injury is essential as the basis for correct treatment.
The aim of the treatment is a successful restoration of the anatomy and therefore
the earliest possible start of functional rehabilitation.
Luxationsverletzungen am Ellenbogen im Kindes- und Jugendalter sind relativ seltene,
aber schwerwiegende Verletzungen, die häufig mit Frakturen assoziiert sind und zu
Wachstumsstörungen mit konsekutiven Funktionseinschränkungen führen können. Zur Vermeidung
dauerhafter Spätschäden ist eine suffiziente Diagnostik zur Feststellung des gesamten
Verletzungsausmaßes die Grundlage für die korrekte Behandlung, deren Ziel die erfolgreiche
Wiederherstellung der Anatomie und ein möglichst früher Beginn der funktionellen Nachbehandlung
beinhaltet.
