Introduction

Nerve injuries often result in stump neuromas that are difficult to treat and are extremely painful. This can make it impossible to wear prostheses thereby greatly impacting patient mobility, quality of life, and independence. Injuries to the peripheral nerves in the hands and forearms, which are constantly subjected to the sensation of touch during normal daily activities also result in significant impairment and often hamper quality of life thoroughly.
