Periprothetische Tibiafraktur
Periprosthetic Tibia Fracture
Abstract
Total knee arthroplasty often enables patients to take an active part in everyday social life due to improved functionality and mobility. Periprosthetic tibia fracture is a rather rare entity. The Felix fracture classification serves as a guide and allows specific treatment to be determined. The expertise of the treating surgeon in different osteosynthesis procedures and in revision arthroplasty seems to be indispensable. The availability of different implants (osteosynthesis and modular revision implants) should be ensured. Soft tissue trauma should be minimised and the post-operative care of the elderly patients should allow for rapid mobilisation under pain-adapted full weight-bearing.
