A.T. Stills „Finding health …“ – Ad fontes!

Dieser Artikel untersucht den Gesundheitsbegriff von A.T. Still im Kontext seiner Biografie. Dabei wird der Einfluss durch die Schriften John Wesleys, den Gründer der methodistischen Kirche, deutlich. Es zeigt sich, dass Stills Konzept von Gesundheit eine funktionelle und strukturelle Einheit des Körpers in Beziehung zum dreieinigen Gott anstrebt. Gesundheit wird als Wiederherstellung der göttlichen Ordnung verstanden, wobei der Behandler in einer dienenden, ethisch verantwortungsvollen Rolle agiert. Der Beitrag schlägt vor, weitere Begriffe in der Osteopathie, die aktuell aus unterschiedlicher Perspektive interpretiert und verwendet werden, auf dieser historisch-biografischen Grundlage zu untersuchen, um im Sinne der Wissenschaft eine einheitliche Sprache zu etablieren.
