Wassergeburt – ein Update

Wassergeburten faszinieren Schwangere weltweit: Sie werden in Geburtsvorbereitungskursen empfohlen und in den sozialen Medien mit Videos und romantischen Geburtsberichten verehrt. In diesem Artikel geht die Hebamme Esra Celep auf Fragen ein, die sie zu ihrer Bachelorarbeit „Haltung und Erfahrung von Hebammen und Hebammenstudent*innen zum Thema Wassergeburt“ inspirierten. Warum wünschen sich Frauen eine Wassergeburt? Warum stellt dieser Geburtsmodus eine Besonderheit dar und wird seit Jahrzehnten in Fachkreisen kontrovers diskutiert? Was sind die Unterschiede zwischen klinischem und außerklinischem Setting?
