In der Anästhesie mangelt es zunehmend an Clinician Scientists, die basierend auf klinischer und wissenschaftlicher Expertise das Fach weiterentwickeln und voranbringen [1] [2]. Um Medizinstudierende mit klinisch-wissenschaftlichem Interesse möglichst frühzeitig für die klinische Forschung zu begeistern und in ihrer Karriere zu unterstützen, wurde die Anesthesia Summerschool 2016 an der Technischen Universität München (TUM) gegründet. Das Projekt wurde mit dem Thieme Teaching Award 2024 ausgezeichnet.
