Abstract

Pelvic girdle pain is a musculoskeletal disorder that often occurs in Europe. In clinical practice affected persons often also report urinary incontinence.

This review investigated the relationship between the pelvic girdle and pelvic floor muscles as well as between pelvic girdle pain and pelvic floor dysfunction. Despite varying study types, cohorts and interventions the results indicate a correlation between pelvic girdle pain and altered pelvic floor function.
