Abstract

Different methods exist to digitally reproduce occlusion and position of the upper to the lower jaw of orthodontic digital models. Coregistration of digital models differs from traditional registration of plaster casts with a wax bite and trimming of the bases. The superimposition of identical surfaces with display of the color-pattern of distances is an important tool for coregistration. Clinical examples explain some guidelines to a precise position of the digital upper to the lower jaw and a reproduction of occlusion that fits the clinical situation.
